Now thats a wrap!

So today was the last time I will be going down to the old University in a little while and it feels odd. Its just all about redefining my reality. So these are the things I'm going to miss....Everyday at 7 something AM I had the splendid opportunity to be met by these guys lovely faces. I know its every vegetarian's worst nightmare right?
These are the assortment of skulls from apes, humans, pretty much all animals you name it!
Now don't you want a little guy like this rooting you on every morning doesn't this little taxidermyed face just say good luck on your test!
Walking past these faces doesn't at all strike me as creepy or feel like a thousand eyes looking on in.
This one's probably my favorite isn't he just the nicest little guy you've ever saw....OR NOT!
Okay so I hope you got my bluff but this is the one and only place I'm actually going to be missing almost every week day I got the opportunity to hang out here the best thing is its a high traffic hall so you get to sit back and watch the college hotties stroll on by.  Its kinda the university catwalk if you know what I'm saying?

School's Out for the Summer...but not FOREVER

It's official I took my last final today so thus commences the beginning of my summer.  The funny thing is though that my chest still feels like there is a ton of bricks pressing it in.  Will my anxiety ever go away?  I sure hope so!  I really have no big plans yet, well I do want to make a quilt and thats about it.  Last summer I was crazy trying to get all of my dental intership hours done and I worked, but this summer is going to be much more relaxed just one job and no big plans other than to make enough money that I do not have to go back to work next semester.  I'm really crossing my fingers that I can do it!  I feel a little bit like phineas and ferb though and I'm gonna say its a great feeling.  My summer's bucket list includes the following so far.
1. Make a quilt
2. Clean my room-I did such a good job of keeping everything organized until finals week and everything is just a mess and I can't handle it.
3. Paint my room
4. Read atleast 1 book
5. Exercise 3-4 times a day
6. Get plently of long hot showers
7. Sit out side by the pool and get a semi-tan.  I really am scared of the sun and the way it abuses my skin cells, but a slight sun kissed tone might do my blinding white tone some good.
8. Learn something new....I'm not really sure what this will entail quite yet
9. Make an actual future plan
10.  Relax.
And when I head home today I am going to watch all of season two of arrested development and 127 hours! I'm going to let my brains rot and actually like it!

Lucky Nomenclature

If you have ever wondered where the URL for my blog name came from its from one of my favorite songs by OneRepublic.  Its pretty obvious HUH? During last semester's final weeks I was struggling.  It was my first finals week after all and there was a lot of pressure on my.  If you are familiar with Boyles Law of Gases You understand exactly what I'm trying to express here. As you increase the pressure the volume of the gas is inversely related and the gas volume decreases.  Well I felt like one of those poor gas molecules and I was going insane! I think that might have even been why started this blog. Well I first heard the song on pandora and I couldn't get it out of my head, I was hooked.  I listened to it more than a hundred times during finals week last semester and it helped to boost my spirits and remind me that no matter how poorly I did on my finals it wasn't going to be a big deal in the long run.  Even though it seemed like my entire life's success was strung between those finals and poverty.  I realized that worst case scenario was that I could fail a few classes and end up having to retake them.  Luckily I only ended up with one A- last semester and all the rest A's! And my life continued forward with out so much as a bump.  SO the point I'm trying to make is this song is pretty special to me.  And I want to share one of the coolest things has happened to me this semester; pretty much every time that I've gotten up this semester, stressed, eye twitching and out of my mind to go take a test/midterm I've hear this song on my car radio (yes its an emotional moment, my heart isn't completely stone!)  Yesterday when I took my Chem test I heard this song I realized that every time I've gone to take a test I'll flip through my radio stations find this song (poorly) sing along and its like coughing up a wad of anxiety.  I guess for me it feels like Heavenly Father saying "I know you've worked hard and everything is going to work out"  Its like a Heavenly hug of encouragement.  Yeah I guess it might sound strange but its been one of the tender mercies that has helped me through this semester, and I LOVE it.

Perfect Timing

Today I was really missing my old buddy.  I don't know why because its been about four months I've personally heard from him.  Well when I went to my mailbox low and behold there was a letter addressed to "BRAIN"! It had been making its way over to the GOOD old USofA for the past month.  Ugh part of me really despises snail mail, but the other part loves it I mean you get to see cool stamps, and bad/good/mediocre handwriting.  Letters are just SO much more fun to get than an email.  Well imagine my excitement because I knew who it was instantly and I probably overreacted in excitement because the crazy old lady onlooking this reaction somehow thought I was in LOVE? And spent about 20 minutes telling me that I shouldn't ... Oh brother I hate living in a world where if you have a best friend that is a guy its assumed he's either 1. He is Gay or 2. You secretly have some twisted crush on him.  I'm proud to say neither of these are the case nor ever will ever be the case, but it doesn't mean I can't miss him a little?  And the truth is I have SO learned my lesson about getting to know people over letters/texts/facebook it never really works EVER!

Its official

I got my first A of the semester and it feels G-DOUBLE O-D GOOD! To  celebrate I made the worlds best chocolate chip cookies and procrastinated studying for finals for 2 hours!
So now I just need to get an A in my chem class and I'll be set to get my cool science t-shirt?
Which one do you like I've got these pegged out

On an Alternate note me my brother and two sisters were having a open debate on what Disney prince is the most charming. Its rough but here is how I decided to rank them.
Cinderella's Man---10
Snow White's Man---9.8
Ariel's Man---9.5
Aurora's Man---9.5
Belle's Man---5
Jasmine's Man---5

Just another day in paradise

Maybe its the fact that its Friday, or maybe that I only have 4 days left of school, or maybe that I listened to a large amount of country music to and from school today, or perhaps its the extra vitamin D from the sun....but I AM SO HAPPY TODAY! Happy Friday!

On an other note I wanted to share something I learned in class today.  I tried to find the research article but I wasn't able to so you'll have to bear my crude summary.  Basically researchers wanted to determine the  effect of failure on achieving a goal.  They gathered 5 gorillas and placed them in a room, in the center of the room there was a tall pole with a big bowl of fruit on the top.  This is a task that gorillas can easily accomplish, but when the gorillas were close to obtaining the fruit they were blasted with a water cannon until they retreated back down the pole.  For about a week the gorillas tried and failed to obtain the fruit and they eventually gave up.  At this point they took one of the five gorillas out the the group and replaced him with a gorilla that had never tried to obtain the fruit from the pole.  He had no fear or previous knowledge of the groups failure to obtain the fruit, so he did what every monkey would do and tried to climb the pole to get the tempting fruit.  The monkey began to climb the pole, and was unable to get the fruit, but not because of the water cannon, the other monkeys in the group pulled him down and beat him for trying to get the fruit. One by one they replaced the monkeys until none of the original group remained, and still not a single gorilla was able to get the fruit because the group kept holding them back.  It was a funny phenomenon because none of these gorillas had ever been blasted by the water cannon, yet they quickly learned that the group was set on failure and no one was allowed to break this group norm.  So now I bet you are wondering why I bothered to share this story at all and the relevance.  Well my professor equated it to choosing a major if you are set on allowing the group norm to hold you down and discourage you, you are never going to succeed.  Sometimes there are going to be water cannons that will blast you down but the truth is I'd rather be sopping wet with a full tummy of fruit than sopping wet and no fruit, so no matter what I've gotta try to achieve my goals no matter how scary or impossible they seem.  Failure is not the answer! So I think its safe to say that I'm going to keep working towards a bachelors in Chemistry, I'm not sure where its going to lead me quite yet, but I hope I enjoy the journey despite the unknown.
