It's Kinda A Black Keys Season

Ever since El Camino was launched I've been obsessed with it.  Being a poor college student, it took me a little longer than what I would have liked to own the album in its fullest.  Thanks to the Easter bunny's generous visit, I now own the entire CD. With everything that has been going on with school, I'm so glad to have such great music listen to 24/7.
Some of my favorites are
Little Black Submarines
Gold on the Ceiling
Run Right Back

Old Advice, Yet Still Good Advice

Remember this post?  I realized that I've needed the advice Lori gave me more now than ever.  So I'm reusing it again to remind mostly me but also the few of my readers that life is good.  You may not be where you want to be in life, but that's okay keep growing and love yourself through it all.  In the end you need to be your own cheerleader, because nobody is harder on you than you.  LOVE YOURSELF and good things will come.

"Love yourself, be proud of yourself, and be very gentle with yourself. If you love who you are, then you will be able to accomplish all your dreams.  Have no judgement with who you are or where you are at in your life.  Just be proud and gentle and loving towards yourself"

Falling in love at the playground

This is such a cute music video by the black keys.  I just love the little boy (the one with out glasses) but somehow I always end up in his position haha its great to have someone to relate to. (Warning: This video contains two middle finger waves...consider yourself warned!)

Something about a name Part 2

Remember my post about how much I love when people know my name?  Well I've been trying really hard to learn the people in my classes names this week and it has made such a difference.  Not only am I meeting people but people are remembering me! It feels so good when you pass someone in the hall and they say HI BriAnne.  Its also great that I know what class of mine they belong to and their name too!  I think this is going to be a really good semester! Life is Good!

What I'm Listening to:
Kyle Andrews-Kangaroo (Guess where the music video was filmed?)
Impossible Shapes-Infinity's Lips
Cake- When You Sleep

Sometimes I pretend I'm Crafty

One of my coworkers is having a baby next week so I made her a few gifts.  She loves the green M&M so I incorporated it into the presents. (Sorry the pics aren't flipped for some reason my computer is freaking out tonight) The inspiration and how-to's  can be found here.

Because most good things are British

This week I've been thinking about how bad I wish I were British, okay I am like a sliver but seriously in this melting pot it really doesn't matter too much.  So I've set my mind to living there for a while in my post school life.  Here are ten reasons why I LOVE England.
1. Attractive Accents.  (Plus they already sorta speak my language)
2. England is Harry Potter's birth place.

Hipster Harry Potter....I loved this!

3. Architectural Sight Seeing

4. Afternoon Tea (Can't you just imagine the food Yummmo)
5. Art!

6. The Awesome Cars

7.  Music (The Birth Place of These Guys)
 and Her
In case you didn't know this is Kate Nash

8. Jane Austin wrote Pride and Prejudice there, plus there is always the slim chance of seeing him

9. Iconic British Culture/Tourism

10. It's England

It only takes one bad line to kill a series!

After watching Harry Potter in the theater the sadness crept up on me.  It's really OVER? I really hate that I have to come to terms with it.  When the books ended I used to movie premieres to help adjust to the closing of the magical wizarding world, but now I have to deal with it!  Its OVER! Sad day!  The cherry on top will be turning 20 in a few short months.  Is my childhood really over? That is one really hard adult pill to swallow!  Well I guess there is always Harry Potter world that I'm dying to go to and help relive my childhood memories again!

Edward vs. Peeta (I do love his bow tie =] )

Anyways, in my grieving I hesitantly decided to give the Hunger Games a try.  In the end I really got caught up in the whole Peeta/Katniss/Gale action but these books didn't have a new spark of energy.  Its just a slightly modified version of twilight to me.  Overall the book had too many parallels to Twilight for it to make my top ten book list, but it was a fun read and now I have 3 movies to look forward to.  Here is the new countdown poster they're using.  Hopefully this is where the book stops resembling twilight.  If the movies are half as awkie as twilight I'll have look for a new fun movie series to through myself into.  I do have to say I'm a little worried about the casting of Peeta that's not at all how I imagined him. If he's the new awkward Edward I just don't think I can take it!  It only takes one really bad line...example: "climb on my back spider monkey"....to kill a series!  (I am in no way trying to insinuate that Harry Potter was free of cheesy lines, the fan base was just strong enough to see past it)

What I'm Listening To

Proud to be Particular!

I suppose I'm actually extremely particular when it comes to pretty much everything in my life.  From the food I eat and the boys I date I obsess over every minute detail.  So I guess its no wonder that I haven't found any guy I enjoy having around for too long.  Don't get me wrong I have met a lot of sweet boys, but I haven't met "the" sweet boy that just clicks and fits in with  all my oddities and interests.

For Example

I'm looking for a boy who owns more bow ties more than neck ties.
I'm looking for another proud four eyes who doesn't enjoy touching their eyeballs with contacts (like me!)

I'm looking for someone who I can talk about Harry Potter with for hours and not get annoyed with me!

I'm looking for someone who isn't annoyed when I bring my coloring books to church

I'm hoping for someone who will go along with my obsession with all things vintage

I'm hoping for someone who will read the same books I like just so we have something in common

I'm hoping for someone who likes bananas in the cheerios and peanut butter on ginger snaps.
I'm looking for someone who will stay up late watching open heart surgery on youtube and enjoy it.

I'm dreaming of someone who will go on my dream East Coast graduate school adventure with me.

I'm crossing my fingers for someone who won't mind eating spaghetti
15 times a week cause that's all I can make.

I'm waiting for someone who likes to make picnics and sculpt rice crispy treats on a
Friday night instead of going to a movie.
I'm looking for a boy that will kill all the spiders and smash all the flys.
I'm hoping for a boy who frustratedly explains sport plays to me for the umpteeth time,
but will still pick me first to come the game!

I'm hoping for someone to write love letters to and not love texts,
because handwriting is so much more personal!

I'm praying for the boy that keeps his life in line with God and will bless our future home.
I'm hoping for the boy that will talk about which element is the most bad-a with me... and not be afraid to disagree when I say Cesium every time just because it explodes when it hits water.

I'm hoping for someone who can help me calm down when life gets rough and I'm freaking out because its true I do freak out....A LOT!

I'm hoping for someone to create my own Hollywood love story with
(so I can stop dreaming about my favorites)

So if you've stuck with my post this long and read through my examples (sorry like I said I'm particular!) I'm sure you're thinking that boy does not exist! And if he does he's possibly gay or European as Elle Woods would say.  But those are just some of the many things that I am keeping an eye out for and really I don't plan on giving in for anything less...well I suppose I could live with a few minor edits, additions, and changes! But the point is I know what I do want and that's why I'm going to remain single for a long while.  But in the mean time I've got some big plans stewing up and possibly a mission on the way!  So here's to knowing exactly what you want and being patient enough to find it!

P.S. I changed somethings up and have decided to go with a simple yet elegant all white background if anything hard to read (as far as the new format, not my lack of spell check) please let me know! =] Thanks

America's Best Mr. Darcy

It doesn't matter if you are a fan most people have an opinion on who makes the most charming Prince.  Well in this case I'm not refering to any of the Disney Stars, but Jane Austen's famous Mr. Darcy.  About once a week at work I get a call asking if we have the Pride and Prejudice movie with Colin Firth (which in my opinion is SICKand makes me want to gag because
      A. I have to listen to some kooky lady fawn over Colin Firth for the duration of the phone call
      B. I love Matthew MacFadyen as Mr. Darcy and I really hate to hear the haters!  When I read the book I literally saw MacFadyen (PS if you like him rent the BBC version of Little Dorit its all things wonderful!)
      C. I think the recent version cannot be topped because the amazing cinematography and musical scores.

Apparently most people at the library refuse to agree with me.  So I want to put it to a vote who is America's Best Mr. Darcy?

Matthew MacFadyen
Or Colin Firth
Who gets your Vote?

A Party Fit For a QUEEN!

This weekend my sweet little sister turned 14! I can barely believe it!  Well with Mom being crazy busy I decided to step up and help with the party planning, decorating, and cake baking all and all I think it went off as a smash!  So here is the cake that me, my sister and little brother made.  It's not too bad for a rookie!  She wanted giraffe print with her colors orange and  blue.  If you look at this whole post you're going to see a lot of it because I'm that proud!

Some of the decor that I made the best part was that it was all so CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! Hopefully it doesn't look it through =]

Check out these cool candles LOVE THEM!

It was an outside party so of course we fancied up the deck with some lights!
 And tissue paper flowers!

 The GRUB!
My knock off edible arrangement that I made!
Everything had cute little bows on it!
The YUMMY drinks! So fun and it was so nice outside today it for once felt like SUMMER!

So according to the girls at the party we are a "WEIRD" family because we have a tradition that for every candle you don't blow out on the first try you get a boyfriend/girlfriend haha I guess I thought it was just normal until yesterday!  But guess what my little sister said I could have one of hers so I might be getting lucky any time soon hahahah
Strategically getting boyfriends for all of US i love it!

One last look at my beautiful cake! Hope your weekend was as great as mine!
